I recently moved into a new house and I have some lovely neighbours. One neighbour kindly brought me a ton of apples from his apple tree. Although the apples tasted amazing there was no way I could eat them all. So what do you do with all these apples? Apple crisp, of course!
What you need:
10 cups of apples that are all peeled and cored
1 cup of white sugar( I use coconut sugar)
1 tbsp of gluten free flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon(watch your labels to make sure it is gluten free)
1/2 cup of water
1 cup of quick cooking oats(again watch to make sure it’s gluten free)
1 cup of gluten free flour(I use Cloud 9 all purpose baking mix)
1 cup of packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup of butter melted
What you need to do:
Preheat your oven to 350F
Put your sliced and peeled apples in a 9 X 13 baking pan.
Mix the white sugar, 1 tbsp of flour and ground cinnamon together and sprinkle over the apples
Pour the water as evenly as possible over the apples
Mix the oats, 1 cup of flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together. Crumble it evenly over the apples
Baked at 350F for about 45 minutes
I put my baking pan on a cookie sheet to make clean up easier
It tastes amazing all on it’s own or you can add some whip cream or ice cream!
